Children get older.
Since the 6th grade, Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” have been my 2 favorite songs. I like the way music helps you handle the feelings you haven’t yet learned to articulate. I like the way a song changes and grows with you, as it reaches into different parts of you that open with time.
So today, when I listened to “Landslide,” my experience with it was different than any before. I’ve been a lot of up and down lately, but I’ve been reclaiming my faith.
One of the greatest gifts God ever gave me was the strength to ask for help.
I wish I could scream “Thank you“‘s to the sky all day, and in some ways I suppose I do.
When you talk to yourself, that’s a prayer because you were made in His image.
You, my friend, are a divine being.
It will never really matter to me “what” you believe in, because I believe in you.
And everybody believes in something. Everybody puts their faith somewhere.
I’ve got faith in every human I’ve ever encountered.
I’ve got faith in chilly breezes.
I’ve got faith in a hot cup of tea, a wedge of lemon.
I’ve got faith in the physical.
I’ve got faith in myself, after years and years of losing it.
I’ve got faith in you and I always will, I promise.
Stevie sings, “Can I handle the seasons of my life?” and it just breaks my heart.
There was a time when I couldn’t handle a single thing.
There are still days I’ve lost my touch.
Stevie, you got better and so can I.
Stevie, I don’t know if I can do this but I’m not giving up. (Again.)
Even when I lose my touch, I’ve got faith.
I’ll keep saying “Thank you” to everyone who deserves it, which is everyone.
I want so badly to be full of grace.
If you need me, I’m here. I’m trying my best. I’m always here. I love you.
